Great for smoothies, May 26, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Hamilton Beach Smoothie Smart Blender (Kitchen) I bought this blender to replace an aging Magic Bullet blender, and the difference is phenomenal. This blender has over triple the power (700 watts) and blends ice and frozen fruits with ease. The pitcher is large enough for making big smoothies - the glass pitcher holds 40 ounces (5 cups).
First of all (and most importantly! haha), it looks fantastic sitting on my counter. A very nice looking appliance.
Secondly, the price was right. I shopped around for a lot of blenders and this was one of the cheapest with all the features I wanted.
It couldn't be easier to make a quick smoothie - I add frozen fruits, whole ice cubes, protein powder and Silk and it makes a great smoothie at the press of a button. First it pulses the mixture to break down the large chunks, then it slowly revs up to full speed to make the mix smooth. I didn't expect much, but after reading the 2 positive reviews on here I thought I would give it a shot. I used it for the first time today and I love it! I made a smoothie with a cup of frozen tropical fruit, 6 ice cubes, 1 cup of spinach, 1 banana and protein powder. The blender was filled almost to the top. I used the smoothie setting and it made a perfectly blended smoothie- no chunks at all. I like it so much that I am thinking of buying a second one for home! If it stops working I will update my review, but so far so good.
The only negative thing that I noticed (not really negative, but just something to be aware of) is that the blender is very loud. It has a powerful motor, so that doesn't surprise me.

Loving it :) I have had it for couple months and I make smoothies, fruit and protein shakes every day. It's fast, steady and blends all ingredients perfect!! Haven't tried the ice crusher yet but I'm sure it'll work great! Love the glass jar. It has kinda like programs so you set it and leave it and in a minute you have a smoothie ready!!!
